The European Factory Foundation (EFF) is an association of research and industry organisations from the manufacturing, logistics and ICT sectors. Established in 2019 in Vienna (Austria), the EFF is a legally independent body providing an open platform for multi-stakeholder interactions and collaborations. Through its technology platform, EFF is keen to promote the development and uptake of innovative solutions from Industry4.0, Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence and Big Data domains.
Value proposition
EFF aims to facilitate stakeholder collaboration across manufacturing and logistics sectors through the development and promotion of innovative solutions from Industry4.0, Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data and Digital Manufacturing domains.
EFF is the enabler and facilitator of the digital manufacturing ecosystem in Europe, establishing and operating a digital platform that interlinks digital manufacturing solutions, smart factory tools and Industry 4.0 concepts to realise a federated smart factory ecosystem in Europe.
The EFF ecosystem is composed of many innovative functionalities that are being sought in the modern manufacturing domain. By allowing users to make use of interoperable solutions from different providers, the EFF ecosystem reduce the time to respond to new opportunities and simplifies the management and control of distributed activities. In the EFF ecosystem, both users and providers of smart factory tools and services benefit from interoperable offerings with adequate level of transparency related to players in the ecosystem, as well as experimentation facilities and interfaces to industrial implementations of Smart Factory solutions and Industry 4.0 concepts.
The European Factory Foundation is an initiative resulting from the EFPF Project, co-funded by the Horizon2020 Program of the European Commission. Grant Agreement #825075.
